Inspired by the evening hour in the woodlands, this artwork is a statement piece. The shadow-box vintage wooden frame (handcrafted, ~1960's) , with black background, creates dimension and glow. It brings a little piece of woodland love into your home.
This vintage frame (~1960's) was hand-selected, taken apart, and re-purposed by me. All plants and wings are glued directly onto black cardstock and then covered with glass for protection and shine!
This piece contains goldenrod, preserved wildflowers, eastern tiger swallowtail butterfly wings (Papilio glaucus), female emerald birdwing princess butterfly wings (Ornithoptera priamus poseidon), and the wings of a small Andean butterfly (species unknown) found on my grandmother's farm in the Colombian Andes after a storm.
These butterfly were purchased from a sustainable butterfly sanctuary. These beautiful creatures were collected after passing away naturally, and are now honored and cherished forever.

-Not for outdoor placement, keep indoors to avoid water damage.-
Best to keep away from direct sunlight, as the plants will fade over time if placed in a window! The fading of plants is natural and does not take away from their beauty, but rather reminds us of the constant change in life. If you are okay with this, then a window is fine. But keep in mind--the colors will stay forever if kept away from direct strong light.
