~*~*~Terra~*~*~

This piece embodies Earthly power and grounding energy. Named after Terra, goddess of the Earth, she invokes a sense of stability and protection for your home and a connection to the natural world around you.

This piece also contains a very special butterfly, the 88 butterfly (it's wings contain the number 8 on them). As a child in the mountains of Colombia I used to see this butterfly while playing and I always imagined that they were guides protecting me while I explored. I was born on August 8 (8/8), so 8 has always been a special angel number for me, making this butterfly very close to my heart.

This vintage frame was hand-selected and re-purposed by me. All plants and wings are glued directly onto black paper and then covered with a sheet of glass for protection and shine.

This piece contains fern, chamomile, eucalyptus, the wings of a large tree nymph butterfly (Idea leuconoe) and the wings of an 88 butterfly (Diaethria phlogea).

These butterfly were purchased from a sustainable butterfly sanctuary. These beautiful creatures were collected after passing away naturally, and are now honored and cherished forever.

~Each piece that I make is created in an intentional, devotional space. I sit with the plants and create whatever my inner vision directs me to. This is my sacred practice, and it is suffused with magic and love!~

Best to keep away from direct sunlight, as the plants will fade over time if placed in a window! The fading of plants is natural and does not take away from their beauty, but rather reminds us of the constant change in life. If you are okay with this, then a window is fine. But keep in mind--the colors will stay forever if kept away from direct strong light.
