~*~*~Earthen Mirror~*~*~
Created with a deep devotion for the dark depths of forested Earth--moss-laden ground, wood crumbling beneath thousands of feet, mycelial strings of light connecting us all beneath the surface, thousands of eyes watching from above. Do you feel the ancient call of the forest? May this mirror serve as an opening, a portal, to the mysterious echoes of a world older than time.
This Italian vintage frame (~1950's) was hand-selected and re-purposed by me. All plants and wings are glued directly onto hand-cut repurposed vintage mirror and then covered with a piece of glass for protection and shine.
This piece contains queen anne's lace, yarrow, rose, fern, daisy, goldleaf, and the wings of an Indo-owl butterfly (Taenaris scylla).
This butterfly was purchased from a sustainable butterfly sanctuary. All creatures were collected after passing away naturally, and are now honored and cherished forever.

Earthen Mirror
Not for outdoor placement, keep indoors to avoid water damage.-
Best to keep away from direct sunlight, as the plants will fade over time if placed in a window! The fading of plants is natural and does not take away from their beauty, but rather reminds us of the constant change in life. If you are okay with this, then a window is fine. But keep in mind--the colors will stay forever if kept away from direct strong light.
